BCRT's paid workforce together with its many volunteers is the primary means of delivering its diverse programme of research, awareness, information and support, and promoting the interests of those affected by primary bone cancer.

PR Officer

Salary: circa £25,000
Hours: part-time, 21 hours per week
Based: Leeds, BCRT Office

The Bone Cancer Research Trust (BCRT) is a charity dedicated to improving outcomes for people affected by Primary Bone Cancer, a devastating condition which mainly affects children and young people. We aim to achieve this improvement through Research, Awareness, Information and Support.

An exciting opportunity has arisen at BCRT, for a PR Officer. The main purpose of this role is to plan and deliver engaging, proactive PR and publicity campaigns and reactive PR that will increase awareness of BCRT, our achievements and our services.

This person will be the central PR resource at BCRT, taking responsibility for working with media and ensuring that PR/awareness opportunities are maximised. We have lots of amazing stories to tell; we are looking for someone with the skills to generate a PR buzz, and raise the profile of our important work.

The role covers all aspects of PR and awareness raising, including media monitoring, writing press releases, campaigning, and social media. The successful applicant will have a track record of maximising PR opportunities, experience of working with all media strands, and an interest in current affairs.
