Becoming a giant cell Research Sponsor is an excellent way to put 100% of your money into the life saving research you care about.
Our giant cell tumour research
Over the years lots of our research has benefited giant cell tumour of the bone (OTB) patients, including research undertaken by Professor Athanasou who explored a promising new therapy to prevent osteoclast formation resulting in reduced tumour growth, bone destruction and the associated pain that presents with these tumour types.
More recently, our nano-kicking research undertaken by Dr Tsimbouri discovered wide promise for primary bone cancer patients and patients suffering from other orthopaedic conditions such as osteoporosis, stress fractures or spinal traumas. Not only did the application of nano-kicking slow the growth of tumour cells, it may be a useful technique to aid the incorporation of bone grafts and implants used in limb-salvage surgery; creating a novel, exciting and life-changing method with huge potential in the clinic and in the improvement of giant cell tumour OTB patients' quality-of-life.
More giant cell tumour OTB research is desperately needed and your sponsorship will enable us to grow research in this area. You can read more about our other giant cell tumour OTB projects that your sponsorship will help support here.
