Congratulations to Sue and Andy Collard, who have now raised an incredible £250,000 for the Bone Cancer Research Trust in memory of their daughter Mary.
Mary, who passed away on New Year’s Day 2012 aged just eleven years old, had been suffering from osteosarcoma. Over the past four years, Sue and Andy – along with their friends, family, workplaces and local community – have been tireless in their efforts to raise awareness and funds in memory of Mary.
Sue said: “Mary always wanted to be remembered. We find that through holding a whole range of events, from dinner dances to boot camps, people come along to raise money and have a good time, and to remember our lovely daughter. She would be so proud.”
“We are fundraising for the Bone Cancer Research Trust to help find a cure for this terrible illness so another family doesn’t lose a precious loved one.”
Sue will be taking on her next challenge on Sunday 24 April at the London Marathon – her fourth time running the gruelling 26 mile event.
