Pete Rees and Dom Lewis are raising vital awareness and life-saving funds by cycling from Edinburgh to Nottingham on their Gravel bikes doing approximately 380 miles with a 35,000 ft climb.
The challenge will be off-road and unsupported, which means Pete and Dom will be cycling with all their own supplies, camping gear and spares attached to the bikes. They aim to complete their challenge in just 5 days.
The challenge is in memory of Joshua who sadly passed away when he was just 14 years old on Saturday 2nd February 2019 after a 2.5 year battle against osteosarcoma.
Last year our community watched as this disease took a young boy. In his name we want to push ourselves through a task that takes us out of our comfort zone and raise some much needed money and awareness to help stop other children going through this in Josh’s memory. Every little helps with research into this cause, so I thank you for your support.
Mat Cottle-Shaw, Head of Fundraising and Communications at the Bone Cancer Research Trust, said:
We are so grateful to Pete and Dom for taking on this incredible challenge. We were so sad to hear about Joshua and we would like to pass on our sincere condolences to you and Joshua’s family. By taking on this challenge you are making a huge difference and the funds you raise will help us to come closer to finding a cure, so that one day, children like Joshua won’t have to face this brutal disease.
