The Bone Cancer Research Trust is delighted to announce the addition of eight distinguished scientists and clinicians to its Independent Scientific Advisory Panel (ISAP).

The new members will play a vital role in our peer review process by recommending projects to the charity's Board of Trustees for funding - ensuring that every project has the biggest possible impact for people affected by primary bone cancer.
Joining ISAP are:
- Professor Paul Cool, consultant orthopaedic and oncological surgeon at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Hospital, who has research expertise in orthopaedic oncology, genomics and statistical modelling
- Dr Sebastien Phillipe Wälchli, group leader at Oslo University Hospital, who is an internationally recognised expert in cellular therapy and cancer immunology
- Dr Alexander Lee, senior medical oncologist at the Christie NHS Foundation Trust, whose research interests include novel therapeutics, biomarker development and early diagnosis
- Dr William Cross, lecturer in cancer genetics and cell pathology at the University of Reading, who studies chondrosarcoma and has extensive experience of computational biology and cancer evolution
- Professor Dominique Heymann, chair of the Department of Histology and Embryology at the University of Nantes, a leader in the biology of bone and soft tissue sarcomas
- Dr Nezha Benabdallah, researcher in cancer biology at the University of Edinburgh, who specialises in fusion-driven sarcomas
- Dr Abdullah Khan, group leader at the University of Oxford, whose research is focused on the processes that drive blood and immune cell production
Their collective expertise will support the charity's peer review process by assessing grant applications for their relevance, scientific quality, value for money, and suitability of the applicant.
Professor Steven Clifford, new Chair of ISAP, said:
We are thrilled to welcome our new colleagues, who bring outstanding scientific insight and passion for research into this devastating disease. Their expertise will help us accelerate progress and ensure the research funded delivers meaningful change for patients.
Dr Zoe Davison, Director of Research and Information, added:
The appointment of these exceptional researchers marks another step forward in our mission to save lives and improve outcomes for people affected by primary bone cancer. We are incredibly grateful for their commitment to research, our patients, and their loved ones.
