We are thrilled to announce that Tom Sheffle has joined the Bone Cancer Research Trust as an official ambassador.

Tom’s journey with primary bone cancer began in 2010 when he was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma in his rib. Throughout his treatment, the Bone Cancer Research Trust supported Tom and his family at an incredibly challenging time.

Determined not to let bone cancer define him, Tom embarked on an extraordinary journey of resilience and endurance. Soon after completing chemotherapy, he ran his first marathon for the Bone Cancer Research Trust and he hasn’t stopped since. Over the years, Tom has taken on numerous marathons, triathlons, and, most recently, an incredible 215-mile ultramarathon from one side of the Scottish coastline to the other.

Now, Tom is taking his commitment to the next level by becoming an ambassador to support the Bone Cancer Research Trust helping to ensure that other families facing bone cancer have the same vital support he received.

Tom shared:

Becoming an ambassador for the Bone Cancer Research Trust is my way of giving back and helping others facing the challenges I once did. I want to inspire hope, raise awareness, and ensure that every family affected by bone cancer receives the vital support that made such a difference for me and my family.

Tom has already raised significant funds for our life-saving work and through his support and actions, he inspires others to overcome challenges, push their limits, and embrace life with determination.

Will Burchell, Chief Executive at the Bone Cancer Research Trust, commented:

We are incredibly proud to welcome Tom as an ambassador. Having supported him and his family through his own journey with bone cancer, it’s inspiring to see him now giving back, raising vital funds, and spreading awareness for others affected by this disease. Tom’s determination and achievements are a powerful reminder of the difference our community can make, and we look forward to seeing the incredible impact he will continue to have.

Tom has also set up a Special Fund, as part of the Bone Cancer Research Trust, to raise vital funds for people affected by primary bone cancer.
