The Bone Cancer Research Trust Biobank will place us at the heart of the primary bone cancer community whilst propelling us to the forefront of the biobanking and medical research world.

The project is managed by our National Biobanking Facilitator, Dr Zoe Davison. For information related to the biobank or primary bone cancer tissue samples, please contact us today.

What is the biobank?

Our biobank will be a collection of patient tissue samples with associated clinical and biological data that will be available for use by researchers.

Why is it important?

Primary bone cancer is a rare disease and researchers often have difficulty in obtaining enough patient tissues and data to perform meaningful research. Many hours of research time are spent trying to track down samples and obtain various approvals for their research.

A bone cancer biobank will streamline this process and enable researchers to apply for a number of tissues for their research from a single place.
