On April 29th, Jessica is hosting the first ever ‘Sonic Skeleton Festival’ in aid of the charity that supported her through treatment
The concert is a night of live music with Leeds headliners Reiver and other local performers including, Tripswitch, Vazon, and A.B.I in attendance to help raise vital funds for the Bone Cancer Research Trust.
Jessica was diagnosed with Adamantinoma when she was just nine years old.
After finding a lump on her leg and been sent for an urgent referral, an MRI confirmed it was a tumour.
Her mother's maternal cousin also died at 37 from Ewing sarcoma, another type of primary bone cancer, so the family had additional concerns.
With her diagnosis of Adamantinoma, Jessica had to undergo surgery which removed 12cm of her tibia bone but ultimately saved her leg.
Jessica, now aged 19, said:
I wouldn’t be where I am today without all the help I received from the Bone Cancer Research Trust. I want to not only raise money for them, but awareness. I want people that go through the same as me, or worse, who don’t have anyone as their support team to find the help and support they need and deserve through their journey.”
Xanthe Hopkinson, Regional Relationship Manager at the Bone Cancer Research Trust, said:
We have a long-last relationship with Jessica and it’s wonderful to see her thriving post-remission. The Sonic Skeleton Festival is a great way to help raise vital funds and awareness for the Bone Cancer Research Trust and it is wonderful that Jessica has used her passion for music in an inspiring way.”
